I just want to say a huge welcome back to everyone! I hope you have all had a great summer!
It is going be an exciting year, which we are kick-starting with our new topic; ‘Weird and Wonderful Warhol’. This topic is based around the artist Andy Warhol. We will be learning all about him and we will be recreating some of his unique, pop art style artwork.
The Andy Warhol Gallery Opening
Thank you so much to everyone who came to visit our Gallery, it was such a lovely afternoon! The children worked very hard this half term creating their pop art and they really enjoyed showing everyone around.
We are now looking forward to starting our new topic ‘Harbour Lights’, this is based around a story named The Mousehole Cat. To kick start the topic we will be visiting Brixham to see how the harbour operates and how lights are used to guide the fisherman back to shore on dark winter nights.
Here are a few pictures of our trip to Brixham………
I hope everyone liked the lanterns that the children made! Wishing you all a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
Going for Gold
I hope everyone had a lovely, restful Christmas!
This term we are starting our new topic based around the Youth Winter Olympics. Focusing on the geographical features of the town Lillehammer, where the contest is held.
The end of our Lillehammer topic….
The children have learnt a great deal about Lillehammer and it’s geographical features. They used all of their knowledge to create some brilliant presentations.
We are now beginning our Science topic called ‘Fantastic Forces’. The children have been set their first challenge…….to find out how magnets work?!
